NEXT SUNDAY 4th October we celebrate our Harvest Festival – please bring your donations of dried and canned foods and toiletries to church to be blessed at the10.30am Mass. Items donated will be go to Maidstone Homeless Care.

Saturday 17th October – Sung Mass, Lunch and afternoon devotions and Benediction at Canterbury Cathedral with Bishop Luke. See poster in the porch for details.

Saturday 17th October – Concert by Kent Chamber Choir in church, 7pm. Part of our programme of events for our 150th Year celebrations, also raising funds for a new church heating system.

Sunday 25th October - Dedication Festival Sung Mass with confirmation, Celebrant and Preacher Bishop Luke, followed by a bring-and-share lunch – celebrating 150 years to the day since the consecration of St Michael and All Angels Church.

Recent Events: The Flower Festival Weekend was a tremendous success and brought in £503 in donations. The recital by Malcolm Coates and The Fabulous Fants Recorder ensemble was hugely enjoyable and brought in £107 in donations for our organ fund.

Ride & Stride: A message from Catherine: I would like to thank everyone who sponsored me for the Ride and Stride, visiting churches across Kent and raising funds for the Friends of Kent Churches and for our own St Michael’s church. The sponsored amount raised is an amazing £450.00 – thank you so much for your support. If you have still to pay me your sponsorship money can you please do that asap.

Available at the back of church is a new Booklet “A Foundation of Faith”, written by Eleanor Rele, edited by Mike Trout and beautifully published by Jonathan Garland. It is a terrific read that brings us close to the lives and faith of those who brought St Michael’s into being. Excellent value at £2 - full colour booklet.

FOR OUR PRAYERS:

In the Richborough Cycle of Prayer we pray this week for Bishop Luke and for Society Parishes in the diocese of Lincoln, Gibralter in Europe, and Canterbury, for their Priests and people.

We pray for those in need, especially Glynis Reynolds, Yvonne Young, Lindsay Wheeler, David Green, Norman Farrington, Phil and Marion, Joe, Keira, Freya, Isaac, Lexie Nicholson, Sarah, Janet, Ralph Austin, Isobel and Fay.

We pray for the recently departed. We remember those who have faithfully served God in this place in previous generations, and for those whose year’s mind occurs this week: Ann Day, Valerie Brown, David Vaughan, Winifred Vaughan.
