His mother was Mary Banks (nee Hurst) Robert was baptised at Charlton St Thomas on 8th November 1888. He was at Highbury Truant School in 1901, aged 13.Robert lived at 20 St George’s Square Maidstone with his wife. They married in April-June 1914. He enlisted at Woolwich.
